This young woman found out what being a birthmother really means. How mothers are used to feed a giant machine. I find it interesting that this occurs in the years after Roe v. Wade and people still assume that somehow adoption became something different after 1975.

Lost Daughters: Reunion? Not really.
Lost Daughters: Reunion? Not really. This is something I have attempted to "verbalize" a number of times. The idea that we are perpetually in "reunion" rather than reunited seems to stunt the lives of mothers and adoptees.

Musings of the Lame: Life as a Birthmother: Why Adoption Kool-Aid Tastes so Good!
When people tell me that adoption has changed since the BSE, I always have to wonder exactly how it has changed. After all, yes, we weren't shipped off to unwed mother's homes - but we were, in a lot of cases, taken out of our schools and put in the schools for unwed mothers - away from all the normal teenagers that don't get pregnant. But there is so much more to it. I was given this link and while it covers a lot, as always, there is so much more!
