Lost Daughters: Reunion? Not really.

Lost Daughters: Reunion? Not really. This is something I have attempted to "verbalize" a number of times. The idea that we are perpetually in "reunion" rather than reunited seems to stunt the lives of mothers and adoptees.

Musings of the Lame: Life as a Birthmother: Why Adoption Kool-Aid Tastes so Good!

When people tell me that adoption has changed since the BSE, I always have to wonder exactly how it has changed. After all, yes, we weren't shipped off to unwed mother's homes - but we were, in a lot of cases, taken out of our schools and put in the schools for unwed mothers - away from all the normal teenagers that don't get pregnant. But there is so much more to it. I was given this link and while it covers a lot, as always, there is so much more! Please read and enjoy the Musings of the Lame: Life as a Birthmother: Why Adoption Kool-Aid Tastes so Good!

The Declassified Adoptee: Engineered Obselecense: an Email from an Original Mom

The Declassified Adoptee: Engineered Obselecense: an Email from an Original Mom

The blog post above was truly interesting. In it, a mother talks about her real feelings with regard to adoption and finding out the truth about feelings that are portrayed. It talks about how we, the mothers, and all the parents/prospective parents involved are somehow more responsible for the need of the child to protect us.

This need often creates, at least it is my opinion that it creates a sense of anger and frustration within the adoptee over the "need" to be everything to everyone.

Maybe a bit could be learned by the writers words.... please, read on.

The trauma of adoption, as described here, is something that we all need to look at. To see that trauma, described, quantified, explained is something that is rare. Please read.
